Mantra Practice
Mantras are sacred words or mystical cosmic
sounds. “Mantra” means protection for the mind. Repeating
a mantra can bring one to the experience of the Inner Self.
It said by Baba Muktananda that this is the fastest way
to the bliss of enlightenment or realization of the Self.
Mantra is pure consciousness in the form of sound. It is
infused with Matrika Shakti, the power/energy of consciousness
that creates thoughts and speech. If you receive a mantra
from a teacher that is alive, the mantra is more vibrant
verses reading it in a book and reciting it.
The inflection
or pitch is important as is your intention and focus to
work inside. The more you repeat a mantra with inner awareness
and sincere intention the deeper it goes into your subtle
layers helping to excavate and unravel tension patterns
empowering your essence to emerge. These layers are called
samskaras and we all have them, these blocks or tensions
contract energy channels, deplete or fragment prana and create
physical and emotional health problems. Intentional and regular
mantra practice will help loosen these tension patterns on
all levels and break up the physic debris much like Drano
does in your houses pipes or "plumbing channels".
So if you are
struggling with a recurring and problematic issue and are
ready to break it up try regular mantra practice.
Here are
3 of my favorites:
- Om Namah Shivaya – I bow with respect to Shiva, higher
consciousness, which resides in you.
- Om Gam Ganapatayai Namaha – calls on
Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, the gatekeeper to
the subtle realms
- Tadyaha Om Bhekhaze Bhekhaze Maha Bhekhaze Bhekhaze
Raza Samungate Swaha – Medicine Buddha
mantra is a healing mantra that helps to heal all
karmic and conflicting emotions, tensions, and suffering
on all levels.
These teachings were generously shared with me by my teacher
Rishi Shambhavananda and his students. It is with utmost
gratitude and respect that I share them you. They have
lovingly guided my journey inward. Please be wise, go inside
and honor your self with these wonderful practices.
Email me with questions or feedback. I love hearing from
you.
Happy Spring!!!
